Customer Testimonial:
"On Mother's Day in 1966, my grandfather
presented my grandmother with her gift, a new Mercury Comet Capri.
She enjoyed the car for many years, literally driving it locally
only on Sundays. After my grandfather passed away, I was her
frequent sole companion on many of those outings-to shows, movies
and restaurants. In the early 1970's, as a pre-teen middle child, I
appreciated the attention she afforded me.
In the late 1970's, she was unable to drive the Comet anymore, and I
was glad to have occasional access to drive it. Although large and
yellow, I remember it had good pick-up and rode smoothly around
town. It remained in great condition due to constant care and low
mileage. My grandmother passed in 1981, and the car came into my
family's possession. After about 10 more years of good service,
the Comet's condition worsened, and it was scrapped.
Over the years, I never forgot the pleasure of my grandmother's old
car. In middle age, when most men look for exotic or muscle cars, I
wanted a car that reminded me of my special "little old lady."
After searching the internet for about a year, I located a similar
model in California. With a national reputation for restoration of
Mustangs, I entrusted the car to Joe Dutkiewitz and his team at
JD's. After a laborious year, the tremendous results are pictured
below. My family and I have been enjoying weekend outings with the
Comet over the last year, and it always makes me happy to think of
my beloved grandmother."
